Archie Bouverie's guide:
Scotland

Visiting Scotland is much affected by the seasons, but all seasons bring their different opportunities. Scotland's cities and towns have a range of events and attractions open throughout the year, which we shall be highlighting through local links on each of our entries. Edinburgh, Glasgow and other cities have excellent public transport systems and attractions, many easily accessible on foot but otherwise Scotland's major draw is the beautiful scenery to be experienced outside of the major cities. Scotland has an unparalleled combination of natural beauty, fascinating history and areas of idyllic peacefulness.

What is a Guest House?

There is not much difference between a Guesthouse and a Bed and Breakfast other than an implied larger and more professionally run establishment (though this is not always the case!). A guesthouse is more likely to have staff, a 24-hour reception and better facilities for guests than a Bed and Breakfast. They may or may not offer lunch and dinner.
