Expand Search: All Inverness Accommodation (8)Inverness is the largest town in the Highlands and the busy and prosperous hub of the region. The town's position at the head of the Great Glen and on the shores of the Moray Firth have made it a firm favourite with tourists. Though Inverness has little in the way of major sights, it's a pleasant place to base yourself as you explore the other, more visible attractions on offer in the surrounding area, including the resident population of dolphins in the Moray Firth, Strathpeffer and the Black Isle. The town is particularly appealing along the leafy banks of the River Ness.
There is not much difference between a Guesthouse and a Bed and Breakfast other than an implied larger and more professionally run establishment (though this is not always the case!). A guesthouse is more likely to have staff, a 24-hour reception and better facilities for guests than a Bed and Breakfast. They may or may not offer lunch and dinner.
