It is the main intersection for the roads to Glasgow, Oban, and the Cowal and Kintyre Penninsulas and is an attractive place overlooking Loch Fyne just down the road from the famous Loch Fyne Oyster Bar. THe Castle and Jail in Inveraray are worth visiting and the town hosts good cultural and music festivals.
There is not much difference between a Guesthouse and a Bed and Breakfast other than an implied larger and more professionally run establishment (though this is not always the case!). A guesthouse is more likely to have staff, a 24-hour reception and better facilities for guests than a Bed and Breakfast. They may or may not offer lunch and dinner.
