However the classicly beautiful and most commonly visited part of Strathspey is the area from Aviemore through Grantown-on-Spey and Boat of Garden. Things to do in Strathspey
Ailnack Gorge is 600 feet wide, 300 feet deep, and 6 miles long. It is the largest glacial meltwater canyon in Scotland.
The Strathspey Railway, located in Badenoch and Strathspey in the Scottish Highlands, runs from Aviemore to Broomhill in the Highlands via Boat of Garten, operating a 10-mile (16 km) heritage railway, which is a former part of Inverness and Perth. Junction Railway (the next part of the Highland Railway), linking Aviemore to Forres. It is one of only a few major/minor trunk lines in the UK today.
