Clynelish whisky distillery is open to the public in Brora in Sutherland

Ben Lawers is the tenth highest Munro and the culminating point of the mountain range that stands on the north side of Loch Tay. It is one of the most popular hill walks in Scotland.

Ben Nevis Distillery is named after the highest mountain in the UK, north of Fort William. Founded in 1825 by John MacDonald, it is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland and a popular attraction in Fort William. Ben Nevis was the first distillery to provide both malt and grain whisky. The water used for the whisky comes from Allt a' Mhuilinn flowing on the north face of Ben Nevis. The distillery is owned since 1989 by the Japanese company Nikka Whisky Distilling Co. Ltd.

The Jacobite steam train, of Harry Potter fame, is a family favourite. The train runs trips twice a day – morning and afternoon – from April to October. The trip is 84 miles round and has been described as the greatest railway journey in the world.
