The Great Glen Way

Highlands

About

The long-distance trail "Great Glen Way" stretches for 79 miles and crosses Scotland's most magnificent scenery, offering a daunting challenge. The route starts in the popular historical town of Fort William, and ends in the highland city of Inverness. The Great Glen Way can be walked for 4 to 7 days, with overnight stays in towns along the way. It is suitable for walkers of all abilities, as the route mainly follows canal trails, forest trails and roads.

The walking route is a fantastic introduction to walking in the highlands; passing by Loch Ness, you will be able to enjoy the forest trails and heathery hills characteristic of Scotland's countryside. A number of alternative routes are available for more experienced walkers/climbers too.
