Strathearn

Strathearn is the beautiful valley that runs between Perth and North Stirlingshire with Crieff as its regional capital. It is an area steeped in history with Crieff being the centre of a network of old cattle droving routes. In Victorian times, the Crieff Hydro Hotel attained some notoriety as an alcohol free spa centre based on the then fashionable theories of hydropatics. The Crieff Hydro is still today the largest family friendly spa and activities Hotel in Scotland, employing about 500 staff across a range of services and activities. The Western end of Strathearn finds the beautiful Loch Earn which is a great watersports venue offering a range of water related activities. In the South corner of this area is also where you find Gleneagles, the fabulously expensive hotel with its famous golf courses.
