Amisfield Walled Garden

East Lothian

About

Amishfield Walled Garden dates back to the late 18th century.
It is also one of Scotland's largest walled gardens, with its extensive herbaceous borders, fruit and vegetable beds, wildflower meadows, orchards, and woodland plantations. Amisfield is a community garden run by the Amisfield Preservation Trust and a large number of volunteers.
It provides a place for education and training for people of all abilities. As a tourist destination, the garden has become more and more popular, with more than 1,000 people visiting it every year. The woodland and grassland surrounding the garden are popular among local walkers. Except for the Christmas-New Year period, the garden is open to the public for free all year round.
