Beauty Spots in Perthshire

The town of Perth lies at the southern end of a district that extends North along the A9, through Dunkeld and Pitlochry to Inverness-shire. For the purposes of this guide the area North of Pitlochry is defined as Highland Perthshire and the area East of Dunkeld and South of the Cairngorm national park is defined as East Perthshire. The A9 dual-carriageway road is the main artery for traffic to the North but is only an hour from Edinburgh and makes Perthshire one of the most desirable areas of Scotland in which to live. The Annual Pitlochry arts festival gets worldwide aclaim, while the area has a wealth of History, Heritage and visitor attractions as well the scenery, waterfalls, wildlife and crafts that can be found across the Highlands. Perthshire contains many of Scotland's best country House Hotels.

  • There are many beautiful spots that local residents will be able to recommend in Perthshire and many parks attached to Country House Hotels that may only be classified as semi-private and tactfully visited. The walks above Pitlochry are rightly famous and other places we have identified as: Drummond Hill Forest Walks, Allean Forest Walks, Loch of the Lowes Visitor Centre and Wildlife reserve, Balnaguard Glen, Tummel Shingle Islands and Brerachan Meadow
