Kentra Bay and The Singing Sands

Ardnamurchan

About

The Singing Sands of Gortenfern on the Ardnamurchan peninsula are famous for howling when the wind blows or dunes hit their feet.

Take a moment to explore the secluded bay northeast of the main beach at low tide and admire The Small Isles' view. This is a charming beach and a more beautiful walk. You can stroll to the beautiful Singing Sands of Gortenfern in Ardnamurchan, around the southern edge of Kentra Bay, and then through the coniferous forest. Kentra Bay has large tidal flats at low tide and salt marshes, dunes, and small fragments of soft chairs. In spring and summer, when the salt marshes are flooded with a light pink hue of Armeria maritima, the bay is incredibly charming.
