Several generations of the Marr family have been imparting their knowledge of the Bass Rock and its birdlife to boat trips of up to 70 people on their boat Sula II. The trips only go on calm days from April to October with up to 4 trips a day in the peak season. Trip times are advertised on a board at the entrance to the harbour. Much recommended.

    East Lothian

East Lothian stretches Eastwards out along the Firth of Forth to North Berwick (a beautiful sea-side town that was once very fashionable with the rich and famous). Wonderful and ancient Golf courses abound everywhere. The area is served by a regular train service from Edinburgh to North Berwick which is much recommended for those who value the wonderful air quality and beautiful views, while the famous Bass Rock (the best place in Scotland to see gannets), The Law (a volcanic outcrop that dominates the town) and Tantallon Castle are spectacular attractions.
