Golf
Golf has been part of the landscape of Scotland since the 15th Century. In fact James 2nd banned the game through an act of parliamnent in 1457. Some of the earliest games were played in the 16th Century at St Andrews, Carnoustie, Stilring and Montrose as well as Dornoch and Dunbar. The famous course at Muirfield which host smany major championship is found in East Lothian. By 1910 there were over 200 courses and now you will find an incredible 500 golf courses throughout Scotland.
