Lyle Hill

The highest point of the mountain is Craigs Mountain, at 426 feet (130 m) above sea level. Before the road was built, this mountain was called Craigs or Bingens (in various spellings).
Near to the road's highest spot, from the West, you can see Gourock and Firth of Clyde to Cowal, and to the north, you can see the Fort Matilda in Greenock. There are seats, information points, and a beam that is lit on essential occasions. The parking lot offers views of the West, and not far from the highway, the Free French memorial is in the form of the Cross of Lorraine with an anchor. Across the road, steps and rugged paths lead to a scenic spot on Craigs Top, overlooking the River Clyde as far as Glasgow.
