The Devils Pulpit is a gorge walking experience through the Finnich Glen. The Devils Pulpit got its name from the mushroom-shaped rock that pokes above the rushing stream. Some people say the rock is where the Devil stood to address his followers. The red water of the Finnich Glen gives the gorge walking that Devils experience. The result of the red water is the underlying red sandstone.
