The Quiraing
Isle of Skye

About
The Quiraing is a landslide on the northernmost peak of Trotternish on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. A large series of landslides formed the entire escarpment of the Trotternish ridge; the Quiraing is the only part of the landslide still in motion.
Parts of this distinctive landscape have been given special names. The Needle is a jagged pinnacle 37 m high, a remnant of the landslide. To the northwest of it is The Table, a flat grassy area slid from the summit plateau, with views of the Torridon Hills and the Wester Ross Mountains. To the southwest is the Prison, a pyramidal rocky peak that can resemble a medieval dungeon when viewed from the right angle - climbing this peak is an aerial climb.
