About
Poolewe is situated on the River Ewe, one of the shortest rivers in Scotland, surrounded by mountains and the sea. As well as the picturesque white houses and modern church of St Maelrubha, the village is notable for the arts events in the village hall alongside food and craft markets.
Around half a mile from Poolewe, across the bay are the famous Inverewe Gardens renowned for their subtropical plants. This oasis of flower and foliage offers a fascinating contrast to the heathery crags of the adjoining coastline.
