About
Located in quiet South Ayrshire, the Dundonald Castle was once the historic home of King Robert II of Scotland.
The 14th-century hilltop fortress site is looked after daily by Dundonald Castle SCIO's friends, who also manage the site's visitor center.
Visitors can see the barrel-vaulted ceilings, enjoy the spectacular coastal scenery, and experience the history of the past 2,000 years from the ruins.
