Stirling

About

Dollar Glen is located around 13 miles outside of Stirling and is one of the best walking trails in central Scotland. The trail is home to a wide variety of wildlife, ranging from Green woodpeckers and other rare birds to red deer and other woodland animals. The trail has a vast array of plant life, with over 100 unique species of moss and nearly 200 species of lichen. The area is covered with pedunculate oak trees and is home to many other plants and signature Scottish ferns. In the center of the trail lies Castle Campbell, the castle was built in the early 15th century and was home to Clan Campbell, and today it can be visited, adding some history to the beautiful Dollar Glen trail. The trail takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete, but if the castle is visited can take up to 2 hours.
