Brodick Castle

Brodick Castle once belonged to the Dukes of Hamilton before being taken over by the National Trust for Scotland in the 1950s. The Castle site has been included in the Scottish garden and landscape design list, and the gardens are stunning. The Castle itself has a long history and is surrounded by mountains, and strategically placed with great views up the Firth of Clyde. This is a veritable island castle, with dark wood interiors, rich Victorian colors, and sports trophies which evoke an era of aristocratic leisure and luxury. Brodick Castle and Country Park is the only island country park in the UK.
