Provand's Lordship

Glasgow

About

Provand's Lordship is one of four remaining medieval buildings still standing in Glasgow; it was built in 1471 by Andrew Muirhead, Bishop of Glasgow. The house now exists as a museum that showcases aspects of medieval Glasgow and contains many artworks and furniture from other periods of Glasgow's history in the house's different rooms. The building is located near the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Glasgow Cathedral, and the St Mungo Museum. Entrance to the Museum is free and it serves as a reminder of life in the medieval period.
