Newark Castle

About
Newark Castle and Gardens are charming formal gardens bordered by the remaining walls of Newark Castle, partially destroyed at the end of the English Civil War in 1646. Nevertheless, the castle has stood proudly on the banks of the Trent River for nearly 900 years.
The paved walkways of the castle and gardens are wheelchair accessible. While visiting, relax in the quiet areas of the gardens and enjoy the picturesque views. Entertainment is often provided seasonally, with a bandstand for concerts, and makes for a great day out. Newark Castle and Gardens has parking nearby, so it is easily accessible by car. It's also close to the historical markets of Southwell and Newark, so why not visit these lovely market towns?
