A Beauty Spots in Wester Ross
The underlying limestone creates unusually fertile soils, which support many flowering plants. The woodland was once managed to provide feeding for grazing sheep and cattle, so many trees show signs of coppicing or repeated harvesting.

The Private House Stay's Guide
Wester Ross may be one of the more remote areas of Scotland to get to but it is well worth the effort and a mecca to Walkers and wild-life watchers. The Area includes Beinn Eighe, Britain's first Nature reserve, Britains highest road across the mountains to Applecross and some of the most spectacular Scottish mountain and loch scenery you will find anywhere along the Wester Ross coastal trail. This is definitely an area which it is recommended that you spend some time as there are many single track roads and you really should have very little desire to get anywhere too quickly as stopping to admire the views is essential.
