This mile-long canyon gets its name after the Gaelic, for "ugly hollow". Corrieshalloch is one of the most spectacular canyons in Britain and shows evidence of how canyons are formed by glacial meltwater. A short steep walk will take you to the Victorian suspension bridge, where you can gaze at the 46-meter-high Measach Waterfall. A short drive from Ullapool, the Corrieshalloch gorge is a national nature reserve and is home to a rare cranefly species, which benefits from the wet dead wood.
