About

Secure private parking available. The Guest House is easy to reach either on foot, by car or via Edinburgh's award winning public transport. It is the ideal accommodation for business, leisure or a stay to visit family members studying at one of Edinburgh's universities. The property is at 65 Gilmore Place. Our photo gallery allows you to appreciate the Victorian-tiled hallway, large drawing room with its ornate cornice, all the individually designed bedrooms with luxury en-suite facilities and you will begin to appreciate the loving restoration work that has gone into creating The Town House Guest House. Constructed in 1876 as The Manse (Minister's house) for the adjoining Church the house consists of ground and two floors. The bedrooms are situated on the first and second floors and secure private car parking for all guests is located to the rear of the house. The quality of furnishings and other comforts are indicated by our Visit Scotland award of 4 star gold status . This grading system also applies to our very select breakfast menu which offers, apart from a full Scottish breakfast, traditional porridge, local kippers (smoked herring) and Scottish fish cakes.

We have been hosting guests at The Town House and our Self Catering Apartments for nearly four decades. We enjoy meeting people from around the world and have considerable experience from our own travels across Europe, North Africa, USA, India, China and other countries. We are particularly interested in Opera, Classical Art and History. Robert is a keen cyclist and is more than happy to offer advice on local routes.
