About

In the quintessential Scottish village of Drumnadrochit, Loch Ness sits the delightful Glenkirk B&B. Seamlessly suited for the weary traveller, this former village church is furnished with guest comfort in mind. Rated four stars by the Scottish tourist board, it is an excellent destination set against a backdrop of the charmingly scenic Scottish surroundings.

Describe the property

With a guest lounge to absorb the area's ambience, visitors can make the most of the “half-moon window.” Even though the property is a converted church, all modern contraptions are featured in the property, including free WIFI throughout the house and USB sockets in all rooms. You will be able to stay in touch with the outside world while on your Scottish adventure.

Breakfast and Beautiful Gardens

With over thirty years of experience owning a B&B, Fiona has perfected her breakfast with a full Scottish option and a vegetarian breakfast. If guests have any dietary needs or special requests, Fiona would be happy to accommodate if given sufficient warning.

With a beautiful front and rear garden, there is lots of space available for guests to enjoy the outdoors while still staying on the property. An excellent feature of the old church is that guests will have a private chair and table to relax outside.

Points about the surrounding area

According to Fiona, Drumnadrochit is a lovely wee village with five beautiful restaurants within walking distance of the B&B. It is a great village to walk through and grab a bite to eat.

Inverness is the closest city to Glenkirk B&B, colloquially known as the capital of the Highlands. It is a perfect location to truly get to grips with the Highlands and its people, with all of the features you would expect from a city.

Fiona’s Insider’s Guide to Glenkirk

Great Glen way walk: Made up of a staggering 188.5 kilometres of beautiful scenery and coastline, this famous route divides Scotland and follows the Great Glen. As it includes multiple stages, you can walk it for as long as you want; whatever part of the journey you take, it will stay with you.

Loch Ness: The world-famous loch has multiple attractions for all of the family, from cruises and water sports to incredibly informative visitor centres. This is a perfect day out for everyone in your group.

RSPB Corrimony: For any ornithophile, you must add this to your itinerary. With a fantastic array of birds in genuinely spectacular surroundings, this reserve will highlight your visit as you get close to Scottish wildlife.

Urquhart Castle: Amid beautiful scenery stands the ruins of a castle dating back to the 12th century. Used as a location in multiple films and tv shows, you will learn the history of an area and be entranced by its beauty.

Glen Affric National Park: Only a 20min car ride away to one of the last great glens in Scotland. Drive up through the Glen to the very end of the road and the upper car park where you can go walking or just absorb the wonderful scenery & mountains.
