About
Elaine and Richard welcome you to Galson Farm Guesthouse just a short drive from Stornoway. These Islands can be reached by plane or by ferry.
We offer Bed and Breakfast accommodation as well as an evening meal/Platter for two on 4 evenings. We have two twin bedrooms, one double room and one King room, all en-suite and tastefully decorated.
There is a guest TV sitting room and also a quiet room, ideal for reading, writing or just relaxing both have outstanding views of the shore.
We also have a full Drinks Licence with a Fine Selection of Wines Spirits & Scottish Beers and a collection of Single Malt Whiskies. The evening meal is a pre bookable set 2 course wholesome farmhouse dinner & now available 2 nights the Galson Farm platter for two, so after a long day out exploring you can settle and enjoy the incredible views to have a truly restful Hebridean experience.
With panoramic views to the coastline and the Atlantic ocean a short walk takes you to the beach and miles of coastal walking taking in sandy coves, rugged coastline and an abundance of bird and wildlife.
For those that prefer to self cater we have the option of Crofters Retreat which sleeps two in a luxury King sized bed with open plan living/sleeping space, separate kitchen/diner and shower room.
Discover a dramatic island landscape, Gaelic culture and historic traditions and attractions. Travel to The Black Houses, or Callanish stones. Bury yourself in the trilogy The Lewis Man, The Black House & The Chess Men, by the well-known author Peter May to get a true Hebridean sense of these fantastic Islands. Lewis and Harris are actually two parts of the one island.
You'll be blown away by the ever-changing mix of terrains, lunar like rocky plateaus, mountains, moorlands, hills, meadows, rugged coastlines and breath-taking white sandy beaches all feature. Western Isles birdwatching enthusiasts can choose from scheduled and charter boat trips to the Flannan Isles, Sula Sgeir and Rona - all located of the north and west coasts of Lewis. Watch spectacular sunsets, Northern Lights on clear wintery evenings, or be amazed by our dark nights offering a spectacular star-laden night sky. Winter storms will have weather watchers aghast as Atlantic Rollers bombard their way across pebbled beaches and crash against the high cliffs sending clouds of white spray onto the land.
