About

Holiday at Doune and enjoy beautiful sunsets, rugged terrain, mountains and wildlife along with award-winning food; an adventure that will create lasting memories. Leave from Mallaig in one of Doune’s boats and journey to a different world. Surrounded by beautiful coastal scenic views of the Scottish Highlands, peaceful and remote, Doune sits at the water’s edge on the Western tip of the remote Knoydart peninsula. Enjoy Doune’s warm, welcoming, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Help and advice is on hand to ensure you get the most out of your stay, and Doune’s boats provide access to the surrounding area. Stone Lodge accommodation is offered full-board with a minimum three-night stay. Bed, breakfast, packed lunches and dinner in the award winning Doune Dining Room are all included in prices. Fitted out in an individually pine-clad design, the Stone Lodge rooms offer ensuite accommodation with additional beds for accompanying children. We can tailor holidays to your specific requirements, and it is possible to book the whole of Doune for special events. Please get in touch to discuss any ideas you have. For live availability please link through to our website where you can book on line.

Hosted by Rebecca

The Doune Stone Lodges and Dining Room are owned and run by Rebecca Rutherford and Andrew Brodie, ably assisted by Rebecca’s 12-year-old son, Bob. There is also Annie the dog, Alan the cat, 22 chickens, four pigs and a garden regularly full of red deer stags. We moved to Doune in 2021, having fallen in love with Knoydart during previous visits. The opportunity to live and work here was too good to pass up, so we took the plunge and hadn’t looked back.

Rebecca’s extensive experience running gastro pubs, restaurants and outside catering operations lends itself perfectly to continuing Doune’s incredible reputation for excellent, freshly homemade food.

Andrew looks after the guests in the restaurant and operates Gripper II, our 32′ boat that we use to transport guests and supplies. Bob applies his practical mind to many building and maintenance tasks and is regularly on hand to porter guest's bags from the pier to the rooms.

On booking you will be asked to pay a 25% non refundable deposit.
For more details on our cancellation policy, please visit our website.
