About
Madeira is a calm and serene spot that lies close to the village of Pittenweem. The Self Catering cottages have recently been refurbished. All the Madeira cottages offer a peaceful comfortable place to spend a few days or a week enjoying all The East Neuk has to offer. To check availability and to book on line please click on the website link Madeira got its name because for hundreds of years sailors came to this part of the coast just inland and found that the climate reminded them of the island of Madeira. It truly has its own micro climate allowing fruit trees including figs, kiwi and walnuts to flourish. The 5 one bedroom Terraced Cottages sleep between 2 and 4 people and the bedrooms can be twin or double, plus there is a double sofa bed in each cottage. Baby equipment can be provided free of charge.
The village of Pittenweem is a 10 minute walk away down a safe path and has pubs, shops and art galleries to browse round. The harbour is particularly pretty and is one of the last working fishing harbours on the coast. Two miles down the road you can find the pretty village of Anstruther with its famous fish and chip shop. St Andrews, Crail, Elie and St Monans too are all within easy reach. All elements needed to cook your own breakfast will be left in the fridge prior to your arrival.

Things to know
Cancellation.
The full cost of accommodation must be settled at least 8 weeks prior to arrival or at time of booking. A security deposit of £100 for any damages incurred during your stay will be taken from your credit card prior to your stay. We require a minimum of 28 days for a cancellation. The following charges will apply if cancellations are made within this period: 8-27 days - 25%, 2-7 days - 50%, 25-47 hours - 75%, 1-24 hours - 100%
Check-in and check-out.
We cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where the provision of the cottage or its facilities is prevented or affected by or you otherwise suffer any damage or loss due to any event which we could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include war or threat of war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity or actual threatened terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events outside our control.
Cleaning.
The number of guests staying at the cottage must be agreed when the booking is made. The mews owners reserve the right to exclude additional guests that have not been notified in advance or in extreme circumstances cancel the booking.
