Walk the Great Glen Way

Why go hiking on the Great Glen Way?

The long-distance trail "Great Glen Way" stretches for 79 miles and crosses Scotland's most magnificent scenery, which is a daunting challenge.   The route starts in the popular outdoor town of Fort William, and then ends in the beautiful and historic highland city of Inverness. Great Glen Way can be walked for 4 to 7 days, overnight in various communities along the way, suitable for walkers of all levels. In most cases, this route is low-level and mainly follows canal trails, forest trails and roads.

Go to Loch Ness, forest trails and heathery hills, experience the eternal scenery of the Scottish Highlands,

Catch a glimpse of the monster "Nessie" of Loch Ness!

Along this coast-to-coast hiking trail through Scotland, you will travel along the Caledonian Canal from Fort William in the Atlantic Ocean to Inverness in the North Sea.

A wonderful introduction about walking on the high ground. Enjoy the spectacular environment instead of climbing, because most of this relatively gentle hike is kept in the lower part of the Great Glen. For those who are willing to spend more energy in exchange for the full picture of Loch Ness, there is a higher level of route choice between Fort Augustus and Drumnadrohit.

Visit Urquhart Castle on the shore of Loch Ness. The famous site of this 13th century stronghold will give you a taste of medieval Scotland.
