A Bed and Breakfast in Dingwall

Photo - Black Isle View

Dingwall is a great base for exploring castles, distilleries and the Scottish Highlands and only an hour's drive to the beautiful West coast. A warm highland welcome awaits with a delicious continental style breakfast including freshly made pancakes each morning and, in the summer, freshly picked strawberries from my garden. Accommodation includes a double bedroom with ensuite and 2 further bedroooms, 1 single and 1 twin with a shared bathrooom.

You will see in my photos we have a beautiful shetland sheepdog called Jessie as well as our cat, Minstrel. Both pets are friendly and socialised and are happy to share their space with other animals and humans.

Some recent reviews;
"Staying at Margaret and Seumas place is like staying at home or with friends. Very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Comfy and cosy room, sparkling clean bathroom and room, perfect place to rest after touring around Scotland. Best part was the super delicious and generous breakfast and the nice chatting with Margaret. I can highly recommend them and will definitely come back"

"I had an inclination that a stay with the Campbell’s would be a good one, and I was right. What a lovely family, from setting foot in the house to leaving they could not have done more. Margaret is a super host, providing an array of breakfast choices, some unexpected treats, I couldn't have asked for more. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The ensuite is compact but bang on for me. The view across the cromarty firth from the room is sublime. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the company of their welcoming family while being away working, from my own. Even though I was working nightshift Margaret ensured I was undisturbed and well looked after. Look forward to returning. I think Jessie the dog will miss me too."

The Private House Stay's Guide

The gem of the region is the spa town of Strathpeffer that was made popular by the Victorians on the discovery of sulphurous springs in the village. The Strathpeffer hotel still has a grandeur that seems incongruous in such a small place and the Pavilion has now been restored to be a magnificent venue for art exhibitions, weddings and other events. It is greatly recommended to drive slowly from Ullapool on the A835 stopping at the signposted recommendations for salmon leaping spots, gorges and scenic viewpoints. A visit to Moniack Castle south of the Beauly Firth is also recommended.
