Clatteringshaws Visitor Centre

Galloway

About

The visitor centre overlooks the tranquil Clatteringshaws Loch, a haven for waterfowl in summer, and beyond that the rolling hills of Galloway.

On a bright day you can see the mighty Merrick, the highest hill in the Southern Uplands. Enjoy the stunning views or meander along the loch to the historic Bruce Stone, one of two stones assigned to the Scottish king in the Forest Park.

This is also one of the best spots to watch the night sky: the visitor centre overlooks the deepest part of the Forest Park, ensuring a particularly spectacular star show.
