Aberdour Church

Dunfermline Area

About

Aberdour Church is one of the best examples of Norman architecture in Scotland. This "miniature cathedral" is located in its cemetery, with views of Edinburgh to Forth. The history of the nave and castle dates back to 1123. In the 15th century, it added a side aisle, and in the 17th century, there was a smaller cross-ear canal.
The church fell into decrepitude in the 18th century and was restored in 1925. St. Fillan's Church will commemorate its 900th anniversary in 2023.
