Hawthornbank Guest House
A Bed and Breakfast in Oban
Hawthornbank is a non-smoking traditional guest house set in a quiet area of Oban, yet within easy walking distance of all shops, bars, restaurants and the esplanade. The ferry terminal and railway station are a 10 minute walk. It is a beautiful Victorian Villa owned by Ian and Jermi, and keeps many of its original features both inside and out.
All rooms have en-suite shower rooms. Some with sea views, across Oban Bay to the Island of Kerrera, Mull and beyond. All rooms are well equipped and tastefully decorated and furnished for your comfort.
Early breakfasts are available from 7am for any guests requiring an early departure and traditional cooked breakfast is served from 8am – 9am. There is plenty choice from the buffet, porridge and an option of tasty smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for those who prefer a lighter cooked breakfast.
The Guest House has on site off-street private car park and Wi-Fi is available in the public areas of the house.
Ian and Jermi are delighted that the Scottish Tourist Board has, each year, awarded them with 4 stars for their guest house and also a Certificate of Excellence from Trip Advisor.
So, if a visit to Oban is part of your holiday plans, Ian and Jermi would be delighted to welcome you into their home. Whether it is a one night stay as you pass through, or if it is a longer visit so you can enjoy the town and its surroundings, Hawthornbank is an excellent base with a convenient location and the comforts of home.

The Private House Stay's Guide
Oban is the principle town in Argyll and is the gateway to the Inner Hebrides with ferries leaving regularly to Mull and the smaller islands. Although a relatively small place there are plentiful accommodation options and fish and chips to die for. Easier to access by train than by road, Oban's principle claim to fame is for regularly leading the high school league tables with children that file on and off the ferries in the morning and afternoon.
