Crookston House

A Bed and Breakfast in Scottish Borders

Photo - Crookston House

Crookston is a relaxed family house, which was built by the Borthwick Family in 1816 and later extended in the 1860s. The House was refurbished 20 years ago, it was taken on by Malcolm and Georgina in 2014 who installed a biomass heating system so the house is very comfortable at all times of the year.

We are only 27 miles from Edinburgh Airport and 20 miles from Edinburgh Waverley Station, approximately 40 minutes drive from both. Crookston House is located close to the A7 which is served by the X95 bus and there is a regular train service into Edinburgh from both Gorebridge and Stow.

Choose from 3 beautiful bedrooms each with their own bathroom and come and stay to enjoy the beautiful grounds and public spaces available for guests.

The Private House Stay's Guide

Scottish Borders

This is a region which is drenched in the blood of countless battles with the English, and its many ruined castles and abbeys bear witness to this. It also has inspired the country's greatest poets and writers such as Robert Burns, John Buchan and Sir Walter Scott. The wildest and most spectacular scenery is to be found in the southern part of the region, but it is along the central valley of the River Tweed, between Peebles in the west and Kelso in the east, where you'll find most of the historic attractions. The hill walking and spa-town atmosphere of Peebles is recommended.
