Welcome to Alltavona Guesthouse, a home from home just a few minutes’ walk from Oban’s main thoroughfare. Our 4-star rated accommodation offers a relaxing place to stay on Scotland’s gorgeous West Coast. With sea views, comfy rooms and a prime location, we provide an excellent base for exploring Oban and the wider area of Argyll.
Our luxuriously furnished rooms offer the perfect blend of modern style with good old-fashioned comfort. All our double rooms are kingsize – with twin options also available – and every room has its own ensuite. A number of our rooms offer gorgeous sea views over Oban Bay. The guesthouse itself is a traditional build, with attractive stone walls and heritage features including high ceilings, bay windows and wood panelling.
Within 10 minutes walking distance you will find Oban’s shops and restaurants, providing the opportunity to stock up on traditional Scottish treats (The Whisky Shop and Oban Chocolate Company are always worth a visit) or enjoy a meal in one of the varied restaurant options. Restaurants offer a varied choice of local produce with dishes ranging from seafood to game. If you are the outdoor type there are many facilities close at hand, with the water on your doorstep, plenty of walking and cycling routes, and Glencruitten Golf Club only 5 minutes away by car. For the more culturally minded – you are only 8 minutes’ walk from Dunollie Museum, Castle and Grounds, the ancient ruins and woodlands of the clan MacDougall’s ancestral home, and a mere 4 minutes’ drive from McCraigs Tower with its enchanting inner garden and panoramic views over the bay.
Alltavona Guesthouse’s location on Oban’s seafront also creates the perfect opportunity for a day trip to the Isles of Mull, Staffa and Iona, with regular ferry crossing leaving throughout the day; visit Iona for its famous abbey, Staffa for the puffins or Mull for its outstanding beauty.
