Stanley Mills

Perth and Kinross

About

For the past 200 years, this spectacular factory has used River Tay's power to produce textiles. The factory was built in the 1780s to adapt to the changing needs of the industry. Many changes were made to it until it was finally closed in 1989.

Hear the noise of the factory floor. Learn how engineers use water power. Look at the machinery that turns raw cotton into a product exported from Scotland to the world.
