The North Berwick Law is a volcanic plug breast shaped hill that dominates the town of North Berwick. It has gentle paths that lead up its 615 foot height and is perfectly manageable by children even if carried some of the way, without any need for particularly strong footware. The views from the top are spectacular and it has the remains of both ancient sttlements on its sides and world war remains near its summit.

East Lothian
East Lothian stretches Eastwards out along the Firth of Forth to North Berwick (a beautiful sea-side town that was once very fashionable with the rich and famous). Wonderful and ancient Golf courses abound everywhere. The area is served by a regular train service from Edinburgh to North Berwick which is much recommended for those who value the wonderful air quality and beautiful views, while the famous Bass Rock (the best place in Scotland to see gannets), The Law (a volcanic outcrop that dominates the town) and Tantallon Castle are spectacular attractions.
