The Laphroaig distillery (founded in 1815) has been owned by Beam Global Spirits & Wine since July 2005, employs twenty people, and produces 2,200,000 liters of pure alcohol per year.

The whisky produced here can be drunk as is or used in the blends Islay Mist and Long John.
In 1994, the Prince of Wales, Charles of Wales, granted the "Royal Warrant" to the distillery.
