Hill of Tarvit nestles on a hillside in the Fife countryside and is a gem of an early 20th-century family home. The house was remodelled in 1906 by the Scottish architect Sir Robert Lorimer around Mr F B Sharp's collection of French and Chippendale-style furniture, porcelain and paintings - a treat for collectors and antique lovers. Enjoy the wider estate and fresh air during your visit to Hill of Tarvit by hiring a picnic hamper from the tearoom. Choose what you would like in your hamper from the tearoom menu and pick up our new illustrated estate map and away you go. Opening times: Mansion House is open daily from 1pm-5pm until 27 June 2009. Garden and Grounds: open all year, daily, closing at dusk.

The Private House Stay's Guide
East Neuk Villages
The East Neuk Villages of Fife are situated on the North shore of the Firth of Forth and mostly were old fishing villages that are now popuar summer destinations for families enjoying the seaside and the sailing. The most famous of the villages are Elie and Anstruther which are both delightful and the close proximity of St Andrews and other great golf courses makes the area very poular.
