Winterfield Lodge was built in 1877 and is an impressive Victorian Villa along the strip of houses mainly built for the English aristocracy when North Berwick was the favoured playground of the rich and famous right up to the 1940s. Today North Berwick is still a hidden gem of a seaside town surrounded by all sorts of interesting sites of historic interest and a dozen or so wonderful golf courses. Kate lets two bedrooms - a double and a twin bedded room with shared bathroom now that her children are a long way towards leaving home.

The Private House Stay's Guide

East Lothian

East Lothian stretches Eastwards out along the Firth of Forth to North Berwick (a beautiful sea-side town that was once very fashionable with the rich and famous). Wonderful and ancient Golf courses abound everywhere. The area is served by a regular train service from Edinburgh to North Berwick which is much recommended for those who value the wonderful air quality and beautiful views, while the famous Bass Rock (the best place in Scotland to see gannets), The Law (a volcanic outcrop that dominates the town) and Tantallon Castle are spectacular attractions.
