The hotel’s peaceful location with views over the ruins of Knock Castle c.1345 is the perfect place to relax and unwind whether on holiday, as a wedding venue (or honeymoon venue) or enjoying a romantic getaway for two. The hotel also has views over the Sound of Sleat, which separates Skye from mainland Scotland. All of the nine individually designed en-suite hotel rooms are intimate in character and rich in fabrics and contemporary furnishings. The lounge offers squashy sofas and a crackling log fire, perfect for enjoying fine malts or delicious wines before dinner where the finest contemporary cuisine that Skye’s legendary larder can provide will be served. This small, romantic, island hotel was created as the result of a dream by its owners, Anne Gracie and Captain Ken Gunn. Complimenting the experience is an unusual additional feature –a stunning 42' yacht ‘Solus na Mara’ – skippered by Ken, offering daily sailing trips around Skye, exclusively to the hotel guests.

The Private House Stay's Guide
Skye
Skye is one of Scotland's most popular tourist destinations for outdoor pursuits, wildlife and visitor attractions. The most popular destination is the Cuillins, the greatest concentration of peaks in Britain. They provide some of Scotland's best climbing and have become a mecca for all serious and experienced walkers. Equally spectacular are the bizarre rock formations of the Trotternish Peninsula. Major attractions include Dunvegan Castle, Armadale Castle, The Museum of the Isles and the Museum of Island Life. Kyleakin is a good base from which to hire a moped or bicycle for exploring Skye.
