Whether touring the region or simply looking for peace and tranquillity to 'get-away from it all', you will find this an excellent base for your holiday. You can explore the outstandingly beautiful scenery. There are numerous walks to suit everyone from hill climbing to gentle coastal paths. Trout fishing, sea fishing, sailing, cycling and pony-trekking are all available in the area. There is a 9 hole golf course overlooking the sea at Gairloch. Wildlife abounds and you may be able to see seals, otters, deer and a myriad of sea birds. Unspoilt sandy beaches such as nearby Mellon Udrigle are just waiting for you to discover them. Photographers will enjoy capturing the dramatic landscapes, while on clear nights, amateur and professional astronomers can enjoy an unparalleled view of the night sky, unpolluted by street-lighting. We are located north-west of Laide (which is situated on the A832 scenic coastal road), some 30 miles from Braemore Junction and 44 miles from the fishing town and harbour of Ullapool.

The Private House Stay's Guide
Wester Ross
Wester Ross may be one of the more remote areas of Scotland to get to but it is well worth the effort and a mecca to Walkers and wild-life watchers. The Area includes Beinn Eighe, Britain's first Nature reserve, Britains highest road across the mountains to Applecross and some of the most spectacular Scottish mountain and loch scenery you will find anywhere along the Wester Ross coastal trail. This is definitely an area which it is recommended that you spend some time as there are many single track roads and you really should have very little desire to get anywhere too quickly as stopping to admire the views is essential.
