Kirkapol House is a beautifully converted Victorian church situated in the centre of Gott Bay on Tiree. Right on the very edge of the beach, the house has amazing views to the Isle of Mull, the Treshnish Islands, the Paps of Jura, Islay and Colonsay. Kirkapol House is within easy walking distance of Scannish, the main town of Tiree, the ancient Kirkapol Chapels, the pony trekking centre, the ringing stone walk and the golf course. The owners are more than happy to collect guests from the ferry terminal or the airport. Kirkapol House offers six bedrooms all with en-suites and each room has coffee/tea making facilities, hair dryer and television. The comfortable sitting room has views over Gott Bay and the open fields which surround the house. The sitting room has an extensive library and a comprehensive selection of classical music CDs
for you to enjoy. The dining room is situated in what used to be the hub of the old church and offers a peaceful ambience for dining. Meals at Kirkapol House from breakfast to dinner are good home cooking and an honesty bar offers a varied wine list. Packed lunches can be arranged.

Coll HotelThe Coll Hotel sits in its own grounds, with a beautiful garden overlooking the harbour. It is the substantial property on the Isle of Coll and much local life gravitates there
Achaban HouseAchaban House, a former manse, is less than one mile from Fionnphort on the Isle of Mull and is the sensible option if wanting to visit Iona for a day-trip or the Isle of Staffa

Cuin LodgeCuin Lodge is situated one mile outside of Dervaig and has stunning views across the Loch to the Hills and Mountains of Mull. Small and only two rooms but boy is it worth it.
I have selected the properties on Private House Stays for their individuality that results from being privately owned. They take many forms from bed and breakfasts to small hotels but in each case it is the marque of the owner that sets it apart. This may be the charm of the furnishings, the wholesome home cooking or simply the atmosphere created by a charismatic host. I have inspected most of the establishments listed here and feel sure you will enjoy staying in them too.
Remember - booking through Private House Stays is free of charge.
