The Private House Stay's Guide

Inverness-shire

The county of Inverness-shire is ill-defined by its postcode that stretches as far as Skye. This is an historic situation that came about from the use of the Inverness to Kyle train to deliver post. Since most of the regions to the North and West define themselves as seperate regions, Inverness-shire is best defined as the area centered on Beauly to the West of Inverness city bordered by Ross-shire and the Black Isle to the North.
