The Coll Hotel sits in its own grounds, with a beautiful garden overlooking the row of white-washed cottages at the harbour side. The garden has been redesigned with the addition of a deck with more seating, an ideal spot for summer lunches and has recently had a midge-removing machine installed to make the experience even more enjoyable! The hotel has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, and is appointed to a high standard, with six en-suite rooms, four of which look down the bay across to the Treshnish Isles, Staffa, Iona and Jura. The Hotel has an excellent reputation for fine lunches and dinners, whether in the bar or in the Gannet Restaurant. The hotel offers free broadband connection (wifi only) and each room has FreeSat TV (currently being installed), as if you'll need it on Coll !

Tiree and Coll

Tiree and Coll are both islands that lie to the West of Mull and can be reached by CalMac ferry from Oban or Tobermory. Tiree is reknown for is sandy beaches and attracting an above average amount of sunshine and is recommended for quiet unspoilt holidays for those wanting to get away from the bustle of civilisation and a safe environment for children to play. It is mostly low-lying with a nice higher viewpoint at the western end. Coll is about the same size as Tiree and features the excellent Coll Hotel. It, too, is known for its beaches, but also has standing stones and a souterrain.
