Ann would like to welcome you to this relaxing Highland home, set in the picturesque coastal village of Shieldaig, by Torridon. Pub in walking distance. Contemporary en-suite bedrooms have King & Super-king sized beds - top quality to create a good nights sleep and no footboards. Low allergen. Free WiFi throughout. Breakfast is cooked to order using local produce: our butchers own venison sausage & Haggis. We also try to use as much organic or fairtrade produce as possible. Eggs are organic & free range. Home-made jams, bread & yoghurt. The 1st floor guests living room has panoramic views, a wood burning stove, binoculars, TV with DVD player. Some of the best sunset views in the village are from this room - overlook Shieldaig Island (where Sea-eagles nest) and get views out to Harris on a clear day. It is possible to see otters & seals from here. A perfect base for exploring the remote Applecross peninsular, Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve, Torridon, Eilean Donan Castle, Plockton, Inverewe Gardens, Glen Elg and Wester Ross. We have lots of local knowledge and information, including daily weather forecasts. Wester Ross
Wester Ross may be one of the more remote areas of Scotland to get to but it is well worth the effort and a mecca to Walkers and wild-life watchers. The Area includes Beinn Eighe, Britain's first Nature reserve, Britains highest road across the mountains to Applecross and some of the most spectacular Scottish mountain and loch scenery you will find anywhere along the Wester Ross coastal trail. This is definitely an area which it is recommended that you spend some time as there are many single track roads and you really should have very little desire to get anywhere too quickly as stopping to admire the views is essential.
