The house - a former manse built in 1870 - has high ceilings, original cornicing, wooden shutters and Victorian fireplaces. Abercorn is also set in a beautiful large private walled gardens (perfect for sitting in the afternoon with a glass of wine or whisky!!). We have plenty of free parking. Two minutes walk outside Abercorn and you are on to a lovely sandy beach, We have a variety of well proportioned, elegant bedrooms with a host of extra little touches to make your stay with us even more enjoyable. We pride ourselves in making our guests' stay as relaxed and easy as possible. This may mean providing an early or later breakfast, booking in advance taxis, restaurant or theatre tickets or merely helping with any questions you any have. All this we view as part of our helpful service and the reason our guests return time after time. We have single, double, triple bedrooms, and a large family room which can accommodate up to five persons. The rooms, all different are tastefully furnished, are warm and clean with TV, trouser press, tea/coffee, biscuits, radios, hairdryers and more thoughtful touches. All rooms are en-suite and cleaned daily to a high standard. We also have free Internet access for guests.

Edinburgh

Edinburgh city is located on the Southern shore of the Firth of Forth with an historic central area, the unique feature of the mini-mountain of Arthur's seat in the middle and then some of the more disasterous post-war house estates in the suburbs. Although the centre of Edinburgh is only a mile and a half from the shore-line, it is the dramatic atmosphere of the Castle that dominates the city rather than the influence of the sea although the suburb of Leith is recommended for its bohemian mix of independent restaurants and pleasant dock-side areas.
