On this site, a 'private house' can be anything from a Bed & Breakfast or small guest house, to a cosy chalet or romantic castle. Each property has a description of its location, its facilities and areas of local interest, and many also have an online calendar where you can check availability instantly, helping you to plan your trip quickly and easily.
The one thing every property has in common is that they're all privately-owned and occupied. We've purposely avoided listing large hotel chains because, as Bed & Breakfast owners ourselves for over 12 years, we believe that the best way to enjoy Scotland is by staying with local people in their own properties. This way you can benefit from a truly personal service, abundant local knowledge and the opportunity to connect with people who live in the area you're visiting.
