The town of Perth lies at the southern end of a district that extends North along the A9 to Inverness-shire. This dual-carriageway road is the main artery for traffic to the North but is only an hour from Edinburgh and makes Perthshire one of the most desirable areas of Scotland in which to live. The term simply implies that the establishment has a bar, usually open to non-residents as well. In remote locations especially there are plenty of Inns and Public Houses that have rooms available. Indeed they may be the only options for food and drink for miles around and can have very nice accommodation available.
