Expand Search: All Glasgow Accommodation (9)To the east of George Square is the Merchant City, a fashionable place to eat, drink and play. Further east is the East End, a traditional working-class stronghold, and to the north is the oldest part of Glasgow, around the medieval cathedral. West of George Square is Buchanan Street, Sauchiehall Street and Argyle Street the city's principal shopping thoroughfares. From here the streets rise towards Blythswood Square, a much quieter area of elegant late Georgian buildings turned into offices. Beyond Charing Cross is the city's West End and home of some of the city's best museums.
There is not much difference between a Guesthouse and a Bed and Breakfast other than an implied larger and more professionally run establishment (though this is not always the case!). A guesthouse is more likely to have staff, a 24-hour reception and better facilities for guests than a Bed and Breakfast. They may or may not offer lunch and dinner.
